Another study of students, conducted by Debra Shavone, portrayed a picture of how some young students between the ages of 10-24, had grew up in inner city life and had been exposed to violence. She showed their struggle emotionally and psychologically with what they were up against and as a result of that they drop out of school and then got jobs but, then there would be no jobs available. And as a result of needing to pay the bills or take care of their necessities they are forced into a violent way of life in order to survive. When they get to that place where they have to make that decision just to survive, they that point in their lives need to be able to lean on some support structures of strength and stability. They need to go the emotional and psychological first aids providers that are found in the family. The family, the first support structure, should provide a place that is safe, a place where a child can develop in a loving environment free of all the chaos thats around them. The family should also teach their next generation that violence is wrong. And in doing so the second support structure, the community, comes into focus. A community that cares about the family and its development should train more health care providers to assess patients for abuse, providing victim support programs, and making services available to all victims witnesses. A community should also provide job opportunities so that they can take care of those necessities and are not forced into making decisions they didn’t want to do. And the last support structure is the church and the stability it proves. The church should be hospital for the hurting and help those that need encouragement and strength. And a church should also be a place where people can find help and encouragement whether it’s counseling to help them through the struggles of life or maybe a program. This engagement has allowed Apple to address over 700 findings related to labor standards, worker safety, permits, environmental hazards, and chemical management before production began (Apple – 2014 Supplier Code of Conduct). Apple has made significant progress, gaps still exist, and there is more work to do. Apple knows that workers are counting on them and they will not stop until every person in their supply chain is treated with the respect and dignity they deserve (Apple Supplier Responsibility 2015 Progress Report). Apple believes that it is not enough to just set high standards they must work every day to make sure they’re upheld. Apple Supplier Code of Conduct is among the toughest in the industry. To track working conditions at suppliers’ facilities, we conduct regular, in-person audits deep into the supply chain. Audits remain essential to Apple work, but they’re only the beginning. The World Book Encyclopedia defines Universities and Colleges as schools where one continues an education after high school. If something can give a person a â€Å"richer, more meaningful† life, then why isn’t everyone running, jumping and rushing to get what the universities and colleges are giving? Each person has a different reason, but for most the reasons are the same repeating over and over again. â€Å"I do not want to go to college.† â€Å"I can not afford to go to college.† â€Å"I am to old to go to college.† The path to a college or a university is not the way for everyone. The ones who say, â€Å"I don’t want to go to college† have legitimate reasons for not attending an institution for higher education. A person can still lead a happy successful life without obtaining a degree. Not only can someone lead a happy life without a college degree, but they may also be educated. Gaining a higher education from a university or college is not the only way to â€Å"enjoy a richer, more meaningful† life. Many who have not obtained a college degree, are still successful, happy, and fulfilled individuals. Receiving a piece of paper, a degree from a university, does not guarantee a person anything, but a degree can be a great boost to say the least.
